Get ready to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Wye Oak's "Shriek" album with their latest release, "Shriek: Variations". The album features five reimagined versions of "Shriek" cuts by none other than Grammy-nominated composer William Brittelle. The duo has already released the first variation, "Logic of Color", featuring the Metropolis Ensemble, Paul Wiancko, and Lizzie Burns. With a mix of pastoral and bombast style, this rendition is a true masterpiece. Brittelle's unique aesthetic is anchored by the undeniable talent of Wasner and Stack. "Logic of Color" is a perfect example of how they flip Shriek's original "no-guitar" script on its head. Wasner impressively plays the synthesizer ostinato on acoustic guitar at the center of this iteration. Don't hesitate to add "Shriek: Variations" to your music collection and experience a whole new dimension of sound.

Stack says of Shriek: Variations: “It’s like looking at the songs in a funhouse mirror. The songs on Shriek can be stripped down or embellished—this is maximal embellishment. William took the album and blew it to smithereens, looking at it in a weird, prismatic way.”
